As an experienced classic car builder, I tend to avoid anything from the 21st century! However if I can help someone, I will.
This 2001 Ford Escape was seriously wet inside. The footwells were full of water, at least 4″ floating around. A large area of the interior was removed, carpets, trims etc lift and the seats. It needed a thorough drying, but the leak? It was determind to be coming from the tailgate/hatch area. The body has a lot of sealant from the factory, some of this had cracked in the roof/tailgate area, water ingress was bad! I removed the old sealant, cleaned up and applied Sikaflex to the said area.
Leak fixed, car dried and good to go.
