A regular customer of mine had some issues with his kickstart not returning to it’s kick position on this mid 1960s Velocette Venom Clubman.
The kickstart assembly was removed and stripped. Turns out the return spring was broken and also had jammed up the ratchet system. The kickstarts are a bit fiddling to rebuild as I found out!
He also had a flakey horn which needed stripping, cleaning and rebuilding.
The motorcycle was given a roadworthy inspection, but I need to return to replace the front brake cable which was stretched and the valve lifter cable which has burned through from resting on the exhaust downpipe.
